Preparation is essential for you and your loved ones.

Just as the process of living is natural, sacred, and beautiful—so too is the process of dying.

Unfortunately, our modern medical institutions have made the process of dying unnecessarily complicated and dishonest, which is why I started Deathsong Doula, LLC.

Preparing for your own death takes time and thought. Conversations need to take place between yourself, your loved ones and—in particular—your medical proxy so that your wishes are fulfilled and your representatives are clear and confident in the decisions they will make on your behalf. These wishes can include appointing medical representatives, articulating directions for future medical interventions, vigil planning, and after-death care.

The way in which we live is often indicative of the way in which we die. By doing the work of preparing ourselves for death, at any stage in our lives, we prepare ourselves to live better, to die better, and to bring our loved ones more peace as we transition through the final stages of our mortality.

If you wish for support or guidance in navigating the dying process I invite you to initiate our conversation via email by sending a message to : Lindsey Barnes, deathsongdoula@gmail.com
